Diecast Car Scale Sizes Explained

What does the scale ratio mean?
A scale like 1:24 means the model is 1/24th the size of the real car. The smaller the second number, the bigger the model — a 1:24 model is noticeably larger than a 1:64 model of the same car.
1:64 — Compact & Collectible (~7 cm)
- Smaller size
- Great for display sets
- Perfect for collectors
1:48 — Detailed & Affordable (~9 cm)
- More detail
- Ideal for beginners
- Fits perfectly on shelves
1:32 — Popular Choice (~12 cm)
- Great balance of size
- Excellent detailing
- Widely available models
1:28 — Bigger Presence (~13 cm)
- More realistic look
- Finer details
- Feels premium in hand
1:24 — Larger & More Detail (~18 cm)
- Most detailed
- Realistic proportions
- A standout for any collection
Which scale should you pick?
If you're collecting many models to display together, smaller scales like 1:64 or 1:48 take up less shelf space. If you want one standout piece with the most visible detail, 1:24 gives the biggest presence. 1:32 is the most common middle ground — enough detail without needing a lot of space.
